A Lofty Idea
Edison Ave. Art Lofts
2001 Edison Ave., Granite City, IL 62040
The nearly 96-year-old historic Granite City YMCA will be polished up and transformed into loft apartments with an artsy flair.
After a 4 year meeting of the minds, a vision, and a game plan, Rise Community Development (A non-profit organization that partners with communities to help make successful neighborhood revitalization possible.) announced on December 18, 2019, it has closed on financing for the rehabilitation and conversion of the Tri-City YMCA building.
As part of the downtown Granite City revitalization, the reflection of history that the YMCA has brought to the community will be repurposed as the Edison Ave. Art Lofts through historic restoration while highlighting its character and beautiful architectural features.
